Outreach
AABE-SJC holds several events throughout the year to follow through on its mission to provide scholarships, mentoring, educational awareness and community support to local minority youth and communities.
Volunteerism
AABE-SJC works closely with local nonprofit organizations, food banks and other community-led organizations to provide support where it is needed most. Some of the organizations we’ve worked with include the Atlantic County Food Bank, the Community Food Bank of NJ, The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City and the Camden County Cathedral Kitchen.
Charitable Giving
The members of AABE-SJC work together each year to provide monetary donations, scholarship and other vital funding to members of our communities.
Our regular giving includes an Annual Scholarship Award given to a minority student pursuing a college degree in science, technology, engineering or math. In 2020 and 2021, we also made charitable donations to the National Society of Black Engineers, South Jersey, and the Sister Can You Help Me Please Breast Cancer Foundation.
Educational Awareness/Networking
AABE-SJC holds several events throughout the year as an opportunity to network with other minority energy professionals and help early-career professionals transition into the workforce.
In addition to earning the Annual Scholarship Award, students are also offered to participate in our Mentorship program, which focuses on leadership and mentor building; academic and economic development; and development of career choices. We also host an annual Networking Event. In 2020, we held the Diverse Intersection of Business and Government panel at South Jersey Industries’ headquarters.
